SUMMARY:SOLAS
DESCRIPTION:Solas stepped out onto the world stage in 1996\, when Irish music was poised at the brink of a new era of innovation and popularity. The five young musicians who made up the band at the time had no idea that they were to be a galvanizing element in the Irish music scene – a lightening rod of talent and inspiration that set new standards for musicianship\, repertoire\, and intensity. “We thought we were doing a one-off project\,” said multi-instrumentalist Seamus Egan with a smile\, ten years after the fact. Egan and fiddler Winifred Horan have remained with the band through a decade that has encompassed seven albums and endless international touring and critical acclaim. \n“The finest Celtic ensemble this country has ever produced…combines a deep empathy for the wild grace of traditional music with a savvy understanding of modern arrangement\, creating a remarkably contemporary and timeless sound that led them immediately to Celtic superstardom…uniquely fluid\, warmly melodic and robust.” – The Boston Globe \nAfter an 8-year hiatus\, the band announced a 30th anniversary reunion tour starting in 2025. The reunion tour comes to Hamilton\, MT\, on April 18\, 2026!

SUMMARY:RISING APPALACHIA
DESCRIPTION:As world travelers for nearly two decades\, Chloe and Leah Smith have merged multiple global music influences with their own southern roots to create the international phenomenon that is Rising Appalachia \nRising Appalachia established its international fan base due to relentless touring\, tireless activism\, and no small degree of stubborn independence. Remarkably the band has built its legion of listeners independently — a self-made success story that has led to major festival appearances and sold-out shows at venues across the country. Rising Appalachia has toured British Columbia by sailboat\, traversed the U.S. and Europe by train\, and engaged in immersive cultural exchange programs in Bulgaria\, Ireland\, Southern Italy\, Central and South America – not to mention the countless miles in a van. Tour highlights include: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco; Music Hall Williamsburg in Brooklyn\, New York; Boulder Theatre in Boulder\, Colorado; and the Showbox in Seattle\, Washington. The band consistently sells between 400 and 1500 tickets wherever they play\, a testament to their loyal fan base. \nLeah and Chloe consider performing to be just one component of a greater overall vision – one that includes advocating for social justice\, racial justice\, environmental justice\, and Indigenous rights. \n“Rising Appalachia has come out of this idea that we can take these traditions of southern music – that we’ve been born and raised with – and we can rise out of them\, creating all these different bridges between cultures and stories to make them feel alive.” Leah says. “Our music has its foundation in heritage and tradition\, but we’re creating a music that also feels reflective of the times right now. That’s always been our work.”

SUMMARY:LAS GUARACHERAS
DESCRIPTION:The all-female sextet Las Guaracheras was born in 2017 in the city of Cali\, Colombia\, an initiative of the percussionists Laura Linares and Mónica Castro. As lovers of the son (“sound” in Spanish) and guaracha genres\, they decided to form an instrumental group in which they could express all their intense musical feelings while\, at the same time\, preserving the essence of guaracha. Guarachas were played and sung in musical theatres and working class dance salons during the late 19th and early 20th century. The ensemble’s cultural and artistic objective is to uplift the female voice within Afro-Latin music and build a more inclusive\, diverse\, and respectful cultural space for all. \nWith improvisation on each instrument as its driving force\, Las Gauracheras evoke the sound of the great sextets of history. The vibraphone has a special place in the band\, since the women have long been fascinated by its legacy and wanted to incorporate it into an updated version of salsa. Las Guaracheras embody the best and most visionary female orchestras of Caleña and Colombian salsa. Above all\, the cultural and artistic objective of the ensemble is to elevate the female voice in Afro-Latin music and thus build a more inclusive\, diverse and respectful cultural space where we all fit.

SUMMARY:BPAC SUMMER CONCERT: PURE PRAIRIE LEAGUE
DESCRIPTION:From their beginnings in mid-sixties Ohio as a group of friends playing cover tunes to the present-day unit featuring founding member/pedal-steel innovator John David Call\, veteran bassist Mike Reilly\, propulsive drummer Scott Thompson and guitar ace Donnie Clark\, Pure Prairie League continues to embellish its rich 43-year history as one of country-rock’s pioneering forces. \n\nTheir eponymous first album – featuring the Norman Rockwell/Saturday Evening Post cover that introduced fans to PPL’s trademark cowpoke “Sad Luke” – has been hailed as a “major early influence in the emerging popularity of country-rock music”. Their second effort\, the multi-platinum Bustin’ Out brought us the classic “Amie”\, along with other gems of the genre. With nine more albums and countless shows\, a legacy was forged and enriched during the ‘70s and 80’s. \nNow in their fifth decade\, Pure Prairie League continues to lead the way for the new generation of country rockers such as Keith Urban\, NickelCreek\, Wilco\, Counting Crows and so many others that cite PPL as a major influence. \nAs crisp and clean as spring water and as comfortable as a well-worn cowboy shirt\, Pure Prairie League still brings it all back home. \nGates open at 6pm. Music starts at 7:00 pm. Food trucks\, beer\, and wine will be available onsite. \n\n\n

SUMMARY:ROBERT'S RUN / 1 Mile - 5k - 10k
DESCRIPTION:When Robert Leonardi was tragically killed on July 7\, 2019 by an impaired driver on Golf Course Road\, our community was devastated.  The Leonardi and Yoakum families have been an important part of our lives for decades.  Following Robert’s funeral\, a community run was quickly organized and over 200 people participated to show their support.  Since that time\, we have embraced the challenge of creating a community event that not only brings people together in celebration of Robert’s life\, but also embodies the courage to try\, a quality Robert always demonstrated. \nThis run raises funds for the Play Like Robert Foundation which has donated over $100\,000 to projects that connect people through learning\, play\, and the courage to try. Additionally\, the foundation is embarking on a pedestrian trail project on Golf Course Road and throughout Hamilton to make our streets safer for children and families. \nFrom his handwriting in the Robert’s Run logo to his favorite color blue\, Robert leaves his mark on the race\, and we celebrate his memory by giving out ice cream sandwiches\, his favorite food\, at the festival on race day. \nAs over a thousand people gather in Hamilton on the first Saturday in August\, we are reminded of Robert’s spirit and his courage to try. Whether you run or walk\, whether you join us in person or participate from another state\, we come together to celebrate our love for Robert\, the Leonardi and Yoakam families\, and the strength of our community.

SUMMARY:ANNUAL CREAMERY PICNIC
DESCRIPTION:In 1907\, over 50 local dairymen formed a cooperative creamery in Stevensville\, with manager John Howe establishing the creamery’s “Gold Bar” butter and ice cream as one of the state’s outstanding dairy products.\n\n\nWhen a fire gutted the creamery in June 1911\, Howe told the community that if they could rebuild the business in 30 days\, he would host the biggest celebration they had ever seen. They came close to the deadline (39 days)\, and Howe stuck to his word. There were public speakers and a free lunch\, which included “Gold Bar” ice cream and butter\, and all of the buttermilk the participants could hold.Since then\, the annual Stevensville Creamery Picnic remains a part of Stevensville’s heritage\, and is always held the first weekend in August. Creamery Picnic is where our community connects; guests come together for an experience unlike anything else. Now is the time to get in on the action and see for yourself what everyone is talking about.

SUMMARY:IN A LANDSCAPE: CLASSICAL MUSIC IN THE WILD
DESCRIPTION:For the 10th season\, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild tours the American West. Mountain tops\, old-growth forests\, and sunny meadows replace the traditional concert hall in the series featuring pianist Hunter Noack on a 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano. Listen through wireless headphones and wander afield with the music as a soundtrack to your experience in the wild. \nRoam the rolling foothills of Bitterroot Valley’s Sweathouse Creek Conservation Easement. The Hackett family\, whose legacy of ranching in the area dates back to the 1800s\, conserved their 540-acre ranch in Victor in partnership with concert sponsor Bitter Root Land Trust and other agencies. The easement offers permanent public access to the community while preserving winter range for elk and deer\, and waterways vital for native trout. \nArrive early to enjoy the popular hike up to Sweathouse Falls on these ancestral homelands of the Séliš (Salish) and Qlispe (Pend d’Oreille/Kalispel) people and neighboring tribes including the Ksanka (Kootenai)\, Niitsitapi (Blackfeet)\, Newe (Shoshone)\, Apsáalooke (Crow)\, and Ka’I gwu (Kiowa).
