The Ravalli County Tourism Improvement District (herein referred to as TBID), is committed to protecting the privacy of those accessing its website. The purpose of this policy is to inform those accessing the website about the collection and use of the personally identifiable information to comply with privacy-related policies and guidelines.

Collection of Information

Unless you choose to make your personally identifiable information available to us, we do not collect such information from you. For the purposes of this policy “personally identifiable information” means any information collected online that could serve to identify an individual, such as:

The TBID does not attempt to gain personally identifiable information about individual users and associate it with IP addresses unless explicitly stated as part of a government agency service. The Ravalli Co. TBID does not use the information automatically collected to ascertain your personally identifiable information. The Ravalli Co. TBID may detect user IP addresses for providing location based user information and services and may disclose IP addresses to the third parties specified in this privacy policy.

Google AdWords/Doubleclick

The Ravalli Co. TBID uses Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick services. In addition to complying with the terms above, the Ravalli Co. TBID complies with Google’s policy requirements.

Google’s remarketing and similar audiences AdWords features permit us to reach people who previously visited its website. Google’s interest categories, interest-based advertising, and demographic and location targeting features are similarly used to reach people who are likely to have interest in our advertising based on previous web searches. Google and its vendors display our advertising across the internet to IP addresses that have visited our websites.

Google’s DoubleClick service uses the TBID’s ads to collect analytical data for planning purposes. The service does not collect personally identifiable information.

Google and its vendors use cookies to serve ads based on past visits to the TBID’s website. A “cookie” is a small piece of information that a website can store in a designated file on your computer or Web-enabled device.  Cookies can be used, among other things, to identify your computer or device when you log into a website and may track your IP address in order to do so. Furthermore, we do not use or associate targeting information, such as demographics or location, with any personally identifiable information collected from ads or their landing pages. We do not share any personally identifiable information with Google through its remarketing tags or any product data feeds which might be associated with its ads, nor does it send Google precise location information without obtaining your consent.

Marketing Services

We partner with third-party service providers that may use various cookie Technologies to gather anonymized and aggregated data to measure the effect our ads have in generating travel to the Bitterroot Valley.

How Personally Identifiable Information Is Used by the Ravalli Co. TBID

Email or other information requests sent to our website may be saved and used to respond to the request, forward the request to the appropriate agency, communicate updates to our site that may be of interest to citizens, or provide our web designer with valuable customer feedback to assist in improving the websites.

Any personally identifiable information an individual provides to a our site will be used solely by the Ravalli Co. TBID, its entities, and third party agents with whom it has contracted to perform a function on its behalf, unless the information is designated as a public record.
